Bothell, WA

Learn more about the proper ways to restore and enhance your smile at Noreen Goldwire DDS in Bothell, WA Your smile is often the very first thing that people notice. The way your smile looks, including your teeth and your gums, can affect the way that others see you. Cosmetic dentistry is a type of dentistry that focuses on giving you a smile you have always dreamed of. Many patients wonder if it is possible to achieve a better smile. The answer is yes you can. At Noreen Goldwire, DDS Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we offer a wide variety of different cosmetic dentistry procedures to help improve the quality of your smile and give you an added boost of confidence.

Teeth Whitening

Discoloration has many causes, including foods, beverages, tobacco products, certain medications, genetics, tooth wear, aging and more. There are several over the counter whitening products, but these products rarely achieve the results they promise and typically only remove surface staining. Professional teeth whitening bleaches your teeth from the inside resulting in whiter tooth. This can be done in one of two ways. In office whitening is a procedure that takes one to two hours. We isolate your teeth to protect your gums and apply a strong bleaching agent and use a light to activate it. When your treatment is over, your teeth are several shades whiter. Take home trays enable you to whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home. Trays can be worn during the day or while you sleep. Treatment times vary based on your needs and goals, but results typically begin to show within a few days. Many patients do both methods- in office to get an instantly whiter smile and then take home trays to maintain or further whiten their teeth.

Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure that involves the use of composite resin to correct a variety of different minor imperfections in your teeth. The composite resin, which is tooth colored, is extremely versatile and can be shaped and molded to meet numerous needs. This treatment is quick, often taking less than 30 minutes, and is completely painless. It is also very affordable.

Veneers are thin shells made of porcelain, which cover the front portions of your teeth, correcting the appearance of these teeth. This particular treatment usually takes two separate appointments. It also requires that a small amount of tooth enamel be removed from the fronts of the affected teeth so that the restorations can sit naturally in with the rest of your smile. However, veneers are stronger and can last longer, than bonding.

Crowns are essentially small caps that cover over the entire visible portion of damaged teeth. They are frequently used in cases of more significant damage, where the health of the affected teeth is compromised. Ceramic crowns not only restore the health of damaged teeth, providing them with strength and protection, they are also ideal for restoring the appearance of your teeth and your smile. Like veneers, crowns require two appointments. They also require the removal of tooth enamel so that they can fit in naturally and comfortably with the rest of your smile.

Composite Fillings

Composite fillings use composite resin to fill cavities, restoring both their health and their appearance. Not only does composite resin blend in perfectly with your tooth color, but it also bonds with the tooth. This means that we do not need to remove as much natural tooth structure. Additionally, unlike amalgam fillings, composite fillings do not contain any metal or any mercury.

Procedures for Your Gums

Your gums also play an important role in the quality of your smile. Issues such as gum recession, excessive gum tissue, or an uneven gum line can impact its appearance. There are a variety of different procedures that can give you a natural, beautiful gum line. Gum recession can be restored with a soft tissue graft. Excessive gum tissue can be removed with a crown lengthening procedure. Moreover, an uneven gum line can be restored with gum recontouring.
